Your Veda Questions Answered

Swami Sri Atmananda Posted on May 23, 2024 by SevaJuly 26, 2024

Omm Namo Bhagavate

When scripture meets software, sadhana surges.

Volunteers are needed to submit questions to help test and train the automated—and remarkably informative—Veda “chat bot” that uses Artificial Intelligence to provide in-depth answers based on the Svarupa knowledge base. This can be fun; see below example. If you’re interested to participate, send a message via the Contact page and you’ll receive the details.

Introducing Svarupa

Swami Sri Atmananda Posted on May 23, 2024 by SevaMay 23, 2024

Omm Namo Bhagavate

Inspired by Swamiji’s revelations and guidance, an international alliance of dozens of scholars and programmers is working full-time on the Svarupa mobile app and website. The goal of this “pioneering digital repository” is to make the eternal knowledge of the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita and other scriptures universally accessible.

Svarupa is designed to serve the spectrum of spiritual inquiry, from newly awakened seekers to post-doctoral researchers. Incorporating cutting-edge technology like computational Sanskrit algorithms and AI, nothing of this breadth, depth and scope has ever been attempted. Experience Svarupa yourself by downloading the app from the Apple store or Android store, or visit the Svarupa website.

Swamiji’s delight at hearing about software that can analyze Veda mantras by individual syllables. (Look closely at the computer screen in the photo.)

How to Know Where You Stand

Swami Sri Atmananda Posted on February 7, 2024 by SevaFebruary 7, 2024

This recording comes from an Interaction on the afternoon of 29 December, when Swamiji began discussing how to know where you stand in sadhana. The Interaction halted when Swamiji had to go inaugurate the new canteen at the Vedic Research Institute.

In this talk, Swamiji refers to the six enemies faced by a yogi. They are listed here for reference, as defined in the book Life and Yoga.

  • Kama: desire
  • Krodha: anger
  • Lobha: greed
  • Moha: attachment
  • Mada: petty I-ness
  • Mascharya: gossip, fault-finding

Omm Namo Bhagavate

Gurumaa completed her earthly journey and left her body on 26 January. She was at her home in Bhubaneswar, surrounded by devotees and family, and the chanting of the Bhagavatam. Swamiji wrote: “Born as a small village girl. Left as the tallest and mightiest Mother who silently manifested a Sadguru, and a mission!”
